38 weeks and progress

I had my 38 week appointment today. Jeremy and Ethan got to come this time. I had some change. I am now 2 1/2 cms and 70% effaced. Dr Huish offered to strip my membranes so we did. It was painful!! He also offered to induce me next week if the stripping doesn't work. We went ahead and scheduled an induction for July 2nd!! The countdown begins!! We are definietly ready for her to come. Hopefully the stripping will work and she will be here sooner!

Baby update

I just turned 36 weeks on Wednesday. Doctor Huish said I am 2 cm dialated and 65% effaced. I guess that is typical for 2nd time moms to be dialated already so he told me not to get my hopes up. At least something is happening though!

Here is the baby bump. I have been told twice in the past week that I am "huge" and if I was having twins. Seriously?!? I don't think I look big enough for twins so I will just ignore the old lady in my ward who asked me this on Sunday.

Here are pictures of Caitlin's room. I love the bedding. It is really soft.

These drawers are stuffed with clothes!!

We are looking forward to her arrival in the next few weeks. We are ready for her!!

Trip to San Jose and Disney

We made the long drive to San Jose the Saturday before Easter. Jeremy grew up there and his sister Laura lives there. Ethan did great on the 13 hour drive. Jeremy's niece has an almost 3 year old so Ethan had a playmate while we were there.

The Easter Bunny found us in San Jose. Ethan loved looking for the eggs!

We stopped at Disneyland on our way home to break up the drive. Ethan loved it. Being 28 weeks pregnant, we stuck to most of the kiddie rides.

Watch out for Ethan on the road!

Fighting aliens

Ethan didn't like the dark rides.

Getting dizzy on the teacups!

Dumbo was the only ride he wanted to go on twice.

We visited the San Jose Children's Museum. It was extremely busy as it was Spring Break for California. We didn't stay as long as we would like. You could barely move in the place.
Ethan loved the water works.

We also visited the San Francisco Zoo. It was very windy. They had a bug exhibit, bears, penguins and tons of lions and tigers.

There was a huge park in the zoo. Ethan loved the slides and swings.

We had a great trip except for the photo radar ticket I had waiting for me when we got home. I had a lead foot getting the trip started so it wasn't a surprise when the ticket arrived. I also lost my wallet literally minutes before leaving Disney for the night. Now it is countdown to baby time!!

March update

Not too much new going on over here.

Jeremy got a new tv that he has been begging me for. He is still slaving away for Verizon. Any one need a new phone??

I am feeling good. The baby has really started kicking. We are painting her room this weekend. Here is a new picture. I am 23 weeks. I decided to change doctors so back to Dr. Huish we go. I wasn't comfortable with the doctor I was seeing.

Ethan started karate a few weeks ago. He doesn't really like it. It is a parent tot class so I go with him but he doesn't care to do what the instructor is showing us. He was a little better the second week so hopefully he will like it better as the class goes on. I also bought him some paint and he loves to do that.

We are Hoping to go on Vacation before Caitlin joins us in July.

Our Christmas

We had a great Christmas. We spent time with Lindsay and Stephen and kids, made cookies, played with cousins and ate lots of food. Santa was good to us this year especially Ethan.

We visited Santa at the mall. Ethan wouldn't sit by Santa by himself.

We made a gingerbread house.

Ethan first seeing what Santa brought.

Opening presents

Seeing the trampoline that Santa brought. This was the only gift he wanted from Santa this year. He has been talking about it since September. It was really cold and wet on Christmas day so he didn't jump on it much the first day.

We had a nice holiday season. Ethan was definitely spoiled especially since it will be his last Christmas as an only child. We were also happy to trade in our Mazda 6 for a Nissan Xterra right before Christmas. We were having mechanical issues with it since it was getting close to 100,000 miles. We are so happy to be rid of it and love the space in the new car. We can't wait to see what 2009 has in store for us!
